According to this DigiTimes article, Taiwan-based handset maker xcute Mobile will start marketing a 3-megapixel camera phone in Taiwan called the DV1. The DV1 is a tri-band GSM (900/1800/1900) mobile phone with a 24-bit main display, an MP3-player and video-recorder, as well as 20MB of on-board memory and a miniSD card slot. In addition, the phone features TV-out so users can output video played from the phone to an external TV set.
The release date for the DV1 in Taiwan is currently set to April 11. The DV1 will also be marketed in Europe under another brand starting in May, and xcute Mobile will co-market the handset in China in cooperation with handset vendor Chinese Electronics Corporation Telecom (CECT). No word yet on whether or not this phone will hit the US anytime soon.
