Several web sites including Brighthand, Engadget, and Mobileburn are reporting that Samsung has unveiled a new i730 Pocket PC phone at the Samsung Showcase 2004 in New York.
The new i730 will replace the i700 which was released last year. This new model uses a traditional tablet design, includes a small QWERTY keyboard that is exposed when the screen slides up.
The i730 has several improvements including a 1 megapixel camera and support for EV-DO networks. It runs Windows Mobile 2003 for Pocket PC Second Edition, which means it offers both portrait and landscape modes.
The Samsung i730 has an SD slot with SDIO support and built-in stereo speakers.
Exactly which wireless carriers will be offering the i730 are not known at this time. No pricing information is available.
