HTML 5 videos set to autoplay are so annoying. There are extensions for browsers like Chrome and Firefox that will stop the problem, but Apple has not released anything for Safari yet. Unfortunately, even ClickToPlugin does not help. Fortunately, there is a way to stop these annoying videos from autoplaying.
First of all, you will want to launch Terminal and enter the following command:
Restart Safari, and you should have a new Debug menu. Go to Debug > Media Flags > and select Video Needs User Action. That will solve the problem of HTML 5 videos autoplaying.
Let's hope the browser companies start building this option into the browsers so we don't have to use extensions.
