The most anticipated sequel for the addictive Temple Run is now out there for Android. Temple Run has already established itself as one of the most popular games on the Android Device. With some new features and an improved graphics, is it enough to top the predecessor?
The gameplay for Temple Run 2 is still the same. It still uses the swipe controls to run, duck and jump and also the tilting method to run on the edges of the path. The good thing about Temple Run 2 is that you won’t run in 90 degrees anymore. The running path now has dips and rises. Tired of running? Temple Run 2 provides you with zip lining across the floating temple and riding mine carts inside a cave in which you should be quick enough to respond on sudden screen tilts.
The major difference from the first one to the current one is its graphics. The stunning visuals aren’t hard to notice. The lighting effect and shadows are just great! There are also more obstacles to overcome too. The realistic-looking fire hazards, animated rotating grinders and even gushing rivers are there to make you stumble!
There are also more upgrades than the previous Temple Run. Temple Run 2 provides users with four playable characters to unlock. Each character has its own special abilities and upgrade paths. There are still power-ups whenever you run in which you can pick up such as the magnet that makes coins stick to you, the shield that slightly makes invincible, and the marathon power-up which helps you pick-up the pace in a short time. The wings aren’t there anymore but it was replaced by gems. These gems can be picked up while you run and can be used for resurrections and unlocking abilities. The sad thing here is that, the more frequent you use the gem in a single run to resurrect, the more it will cost you to resurrect once again.
Bottomline, Temple Run 2 doesn’t disappoint. It is a good sequel. Improved visuals, more obstacles, new ambiance, new characters and power-ups make it one of the best in the running games category.
Pros: Fun, improved graphics, less lag, responsive navigation, ad-free.
Cons: Nothing revolutionary. Certain power-ups are only available to specific characters.
