EVO Dead. Dead EVO. I had an interesting problem this morning with my Sprint EVO. I've been using it as a 4G WiFi Hotspot while I'm on the road, and it's been working quite well. I left it on all night and all of a sudden the phone would not charge or turn on. It was completely dead. I tried several times to hold down the power button, but nothing happened. I also removed the battery several times and still could not get the phone to turn on.
I Googled the problem and found several other people had the same issues, but nobody seemed to have an answer. Some people claimed that just waiting awhile worked for them. Others said that holding the power button down for 2-3 minutes solved the issue for them. That option did not work for me.
What finally worked for me was removing the battery, then while holding down the power button I inserted the battery back into the EVO. The phone immediately came back on and booted up. I haven't yet determined what causes this issue, but I'm sure glad my EVO isn't bricked. It's back up and working and I have 4G WiFi once again.
