According to TechWhack, at least one analyst thinks the Apple iPhone does not meet the definition of a smart phone. Instead, the iPhone is a "high-end feature phone" according to Philip Solis, an analyst for ABI Research.
Solis went on to say, "feature phones have third-party applications too, but these are relatively weak and limited to applications that work with the middleware such as Java and Brew. The competition in an open environment also yields more cutting edge, rich applications."
So is the iPhone a smart phone or a feature phone? You decide, but check out the link below for the full story.
