Siemens AG has developed a prototype pen phone that allows you to write letters and numbers on any surface and have the handwriting recognized, then sent via SMS.
The prototype PenPhone is said to feature integrated handwriting recognition technology, in addition to standard features of a GSM phone. Siemens is expected to demonstrate the prototype phone at the Cebit trade show in Hanover, Germany, next month, a company spokeswoman said Monday.
The device is 140 millimeters long with a diameter of 19 millimeters.
No details have been given about the date of availability or pricing. As with many prototype devices it is always possible that it will not make it to market. This one remains to be seen.
